  • Teacher at the "Damenakademie des Vereins der Berliner Künstlerinnen"
  • 1891: Married doctor Karl Kollwitz
  • 1892: Birth of her first son Hans
  • 1896: Birth of her second son Peter (died in WW1)

INFLUENCE OF WW1

  • Loss of her son Peter
  • Famous sculpture "mourning couple" for him
  • "Art has to show social conditions"
